The Boys is over. Season 5, Episode 8 dropped on Prime Video today and it is the series finale. Five seasons. Eric Kripke's adaptation of Garth Ennis's comic ran from 2019 to 2026 and became one of the defining television series of its era — a satirical superhero show that was funnier, angrier, and more committed to its consequences than any of its genre contemporaries.
The Series — What It Was
The Boys ran five seasons on Prime Video. It started as satire of corporate superhero culture and became something harder to categorize — a show about power, accountability, and what it means that the most powerful people in a society are also the most corrupt. Homelander is one of the great television villains. Antony Starr's performance across five seasons is the show's defining achievement.
What Comes Next — The Boys Universe in 2026
The Boys universe does not end with the main show. Gen V Season 2 is in production at Prime Video. Invincible Season 3 is currently airing and Season 4 is confirmed. Eric Kripke has discussed a potential Boys spinoff but nothing is greenlit beyond Gen V. The universe contracts after the main show ends — which is the right creative call.
What to Watch After The Boys

The Boys
All five seasons available on Prime Video right now. If you have not started — go. If you just finished the finale — rewatch Season 2. It holds up differently knowing how it ends.

Netflix's survival horror series with the same class-warfare DNA as The Boys. Season 3 in production. Seasons 1-2 available — if you have been putting it off, now is the time.
Netflix
One Piece
The tonal antidote to five seasons of The Boys. Pure adventure and friendship after the finale — One Piece's Elbaph arc is the counter-programming.
Netflix

Prime Video
The Family Man
For Prime Video India subscribers: Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari is Prime Video's other working-man action protagonist worth investing in.
Prime Video
The White Lotus
Mike White's resort satire on Max — Season 3 complete. The most The Boys-adjacent show in terms of class satire and dark comedy. A natural next watch.
Max
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
Pure craft and emotion — no cynicism, no satire. The Boys finale week is a good time to start something that actually believes in heroism.
Crunchyroll
Attack on Titan
An anime that — like The Boys — committed fully to its dark premise and paid it off with an ending that divided and satisfied audiences simultaneously. Complete on Crunchyroll.

House of the Dragon
Targaryen civil war on Max. If you want morally complex powerful people tearing each other apart — the same energy as The Boys without the satire.
