June 7, 2026. Weekly world streaming report — one major story per region. Not everything, not every new release. Just the signal through the noise.
Hollywood: Summer Theatrical Season Mid-Run
Mortal Kombat II and The Mandalorian & Grogu are both in theaters. MK2 is tracking to Max in approximately 5-6 weeks. Mandalorian & Grogu is on Disney+'s 45-day clock — streaming premiere around July 6. Hollywood's June OTT slate is lighter than usual — platforms are saving originals launches for after the blockbuster theatrical window closes. Dune: Part Two and Furiosa are the film catalog anchors on Max. Severance Season 2 complete on Apple TV+ is the week's single best streaming recommendation.
India: Bollywood Summer Acquisitions in Motion
Indian OTT is in the acquisition phase for summer theatrical releases. Pushpa 2: The Rule on Prime Video India is still drawing record views in its extended cut. Kalki 2898 AD arrived on Netflix earlier this year and continues to build international audience. Prime Video India and Netflix India are competing hard for the April-May theatrical window. RRR and Baahubali 2 remain the catalog foundation that both platforms anchor their Telugu libraries around.
Korea: WONDERfools Week 4
WONDERfools (Netflix Korea, Park Eun Bin) is in its fourth week and domestic ratings have held. The rom-com's writing has been intelligent about subverting the standard beats. The Glory remains the K-drama catalog reference point this month — Song Hye-kyo's revenge drama is the post-WONDERfools binge recommendation. Moving on Disney+ is the Korean superhero drama that keeps drawing new viewers every week.
Japan: Summer Anime Season T-Minus 3 Weeks
Summer 2026 anime season is approximately three weeks from first episodes. Bleach TYBW Part 4 is confirmed for July. Spring season is in its final episodes. June 7 is the catch-up window — Bleach Parts 1-3 on Crunchyroll are mandatory viewing before Part 4. Alice in Borderland on Netflix is the week's Japanese live-action pick for non-anime viewers.
